The Emerald Dolphin Inn is owned and operated by a grass roots family that have been residents of Fort Bragg for almost 90 years. 
 Their love for the area has kept 5 generations here to watch  Fort Bragg develop into what it is today, a haven by the sea.
      In 1988, a father and a daughter dreamed they could build a beautiful Inn near the ocean.  It took 12 years of perseverance and determination,
fighting the California Coastal Commission, and a few of  Fort Bragg's City Government officials, each not wanting any growth in Fort Bragg. 
But in February 2001, the Emerald Dolphin celebrated it's grand opening, and their dream was finally realized.
 It has been a long hard road but worth every mile.  We look at it as just another lesson in life.  If you want something bad enough, NEVER give up.
Now Kim , her husband David Queen and their two children make the Emerald Dolphin their career and their home.
